Peter Macdonald

Born in London and living near Cambridge, UK, Peter Macdonald works in a range of mediums including painting, drawing and printmaking as well as being a pioneer in technology-driven as well as AI-informed art.

 

Macdonald holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Newcastle-upon Tyne (1995) and was a winner of the renowned Jerwood Drawing Prize (2005). Since the early 2000s he has exhibited work in both leading commercial and public galleries, in the UK and internationally, including: The Concrete Gallery (The Hayward Gallery), Edel Assanti, Ben Brown Fine Arts, Sims Reed Gallery, Museum 52, Andrew Mummery Gallery, 47 Gt. Eastern St, The Bear, The Drawing Room (in London), as well as CRASSH (Cambridge), Turnpike Gallery (Manchester), Elementa (Dubai), Exeter Pheonix (Exeter), National Art School (Sydney), Galerie Wit (Netherlands), Jerwood Drawing Prize (touring the UK and internationally), and most recently ArtSpace5-7 (Cambridge, UK).

 

His work is found in important private and public collections and has been featured in publications including in Drawing Breath: 10 Years of the Jerwood Drawing Prize (2007) and Sanctuary: British Artists and their Studios (2012) Thames & Hudson.
